Nevets plays Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

Nevets, aka The Gutter Monkey, Plays Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

My very first "Let's Play" series, this is my blind (mostly) playthrough of the video game Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. If you're contemplating watching any of this series, there are a couple of caveats that you should probably be aware of before diving in:

• I take my time. Like, no exaggeration. I take a lot of time.

• I play on a hard difficulty. Being a not-so-skilled player, this often results in an unusual amount of deaths and a multitude of failed attempts and replays of fights. But stupid men do stupid things. What can I say.

• While this gameplay is mostly blind, I had previously given the first couple of hours a test run when I'd initially purchased the game. The game is officially blind to me midway through the third episode.

• I swear on occasion. I try not to overdo it, but I certainly have my moments.

• I edit very little out. For audio, since I only have the bare minimum of understanding of how to edit this, it can sometimes result in my voice levels not being perfect. I do my best, but so far I'm still learning.

• I may occasionally edit in a photograph or something of the like during my editing process in order to clarify something in which I was commenting on in game. I'll rarely add a special effect (slow-motion, fast-motion, stuff like that). I don't ever plan on doing this, but occasionally the urge hits me. With that being said, I try to do this in such a way that is quick, to the point, rare, and doesn't interfere with the atmosphere, mood, or plot of the game I'm playing.

• I'm just a guy playing a game how he'd normally play it even if he weren't being recorded.

There wasn't much thought or consideration put into starting off my Let's Play series with this particular title. It just so happened to be the next game on my to-play list and one which I've been excited about giving a go. Similarly, there wasn't actually much thought put into actually doing a Let's Play at all. Not long before starting on this game, the thought simply occurred to me: "Why not recording yourself?" After all, the PS4 has built-in recording software and I just so happen to already own a reasonable microphone (nothing fancy, but it works). And with no more thought than that, I began to Let's Play.

Throughout the years, I'd seen a handful of the people doing these Let's Play videos on the interwebs and always thought that it looked like a fun way to enhance my gameplay. So far, I haven't been wrong. The only downside I've found is the time it takes me to edit and the fact that I can only record between 12AM and 6AM, as I live beside of one of the few busy (noisy) streets in my very small town. Anywho. This has been fun so far and hopefully it continues to be as I complete it. Hopefully anyone who watches will enjoy as well.

Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #01

Wasting no time, our adventure immediately throws us into action, placing us behind the wheel in the midst of an epic boat chase. We’re accompanied by our brother Sam as we’re pursued and shot at by trigger happy thugs for reasons yet unknown to us. Afterwards, we flash back to our childhood at St. Francis Boys Home. We sport a black eye. A nun chastises us and later sneaks a ciggy by the window. We see a quick foreshadow of how awful I am with the cover system. With the help of our loving/conning big brother (Sam, in his early, more adorable years) we escape the school in our classic monkey boy fashion. We’re taught the ancient art of how to appropriately use a rope and I briefly ruminate on how numb I’ve sadly become to the awe-inspiring magic derived from video game graphics. Next, we flash forward to an unknown date where Nate is older yet still sporting a black eye as he dukes it out with an angry Spaniard. I showcase why I failed Spanish class. I die. I respawn with a vengeance. I visit solitaria. I contradict my previous statement about being numb to game graphics by praising this games graphics. We meet Vargas. Vargas blackmails us. We find out how we got into prison. I mistake Burns for Avery multiple times, regardless of how much the game corrects me. I say I won't spend too much time looking for collectibles then proceed to be constantly distracted by a search for collectibles. I climb into an old-timey prison. I fail at reading a note. I zip through an easy puzzle. We find a crucifix with weird words on it. I awkwardly end the first, exciting installment of my very first Let's Play playthrough for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. Click here to watch on YouTube.

Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #02

In this installment of our Let’s Play of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, we start festivities off with a drawn out explanation of something which is completely irrelevant to anyone but myself. Following this bit of tediousness, we jump right into a short summary of our previous episode where I confuse Burns with Avery again. Next up, we make our way back to the main prison to meet our adventurous cohorts Rafe and Sam (our bro). We discuss crucifixes, Sam speaks Latin, we have bible study, we become mixed up in a teensy dispute with Vargas, we have another brawl with Spaniards, we watch Vargas go Captain Hadley on a man, we attempt a daring escape, we may have lost a loved one, we watch a bombass intro, we flash to the present (spending 15 years under water?!), we swim, clean up rubble, find an arcade token, open a box, reminisce with some artifacts, play with some balls, we resist our adventurous urges and try to live a normal life. Click here to watch on YouTube.

Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #03

In our new thrilling episode of my Let’s Play of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, we investigate what it’s like to have a normal life (I’ve always wondered). I accidentally get a copyright claim on this video, we have a mini meta Let’s Play of a PS1 game within our current Let’s Play of a PS4 game, I remember I stink at Crash Bandicoot, Elena talks trash, we get a blast from the past, Uncharted pulls a Raiden-esque switcharoo on us, we meet the Butcher of Panama, we make yet another daring prison escape, we murder a lot of people, I can’t shoot for shit, I’m rescued by a drug lord multiple times, explosions, how do colorblind people know when to heal themselves? I die 3 times in the same spot, I’m beaten with an assault rifle, and I’m threatened and made to walk home. We lie to our wife and our blind playthrough officially begins while our normal life is put on hold. We dawn jumpsuits and bowties, Sam is jealous of Sully, I accidentally say “Nate met Sam when he was a kid” when I meant to say “Nate met Sully” and it kills me inside, we forget how to throw a rope, I’m not sure if I trust Sam, I fall off a mountain, Sam and Nate have an incestuous encounter, we climb mountains, do Psychonauts poll swings, Sam misses citrus and motorcycles, we exceed our recording time and have to deal with it, we meet an old friend, Sam hits on a waitress, and we plan a heist. Click here to watch on YouTube.

Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #04

In this riveting episode of Let’s Play Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, we steal from an auction! We start things off by watching a coin spin for what seems like a lifetime, we smoothly glide through crowds (a question of etiquette: as we pass, do we give them the ass or the crotch?), we pick a pocket and Sully admires our professionalism, Sully macks on Nadine, I get confused as to who Nadine is, Sam and I hunt for waiters to pants, the game astutely presumes I’m stupid, I lug barrels while Sam holds the lighter, I can’t pronounce “vase”, Sam doesn’t know what a radio tower is, we lose touch with Sully and it gives me a bad feeling, the help catches us in an awkward position, we make our way to the power room, tight pants are in style, we lose touch with Sam, we scale buildings in Italy, Rafe reappears and looks like trouble (and the guy from Mad Men), you should all watch Another Day in Paradise (link below), we make it to the power room, I get lost and dizzy, we encounter a haunted vacuum cleaner, Sully makes a bluff, we switch a breaker, Sam snags a cross, lights out, generator on, we learn about the threat meter, we murder a man and I sing a rhapsody, we sneak around on rooftops, we sneak around in tall grass, this is my kinda game, Dale Earnhardt drives by, we scramble to the ballroom, we remain a smartass, we get beat up by a girl, we're flung from a window, I fall off a roof, we find a round sign thing and I bid you adieu. Click here to watch on YouTube.

Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #05

Let’s play Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End — whadda ya say? We begin today by cowering on a balcony. We then commence our escape from an auction in Italy, where we’ve snatched our coveted crucifix. I then bring up MGS (again), I complain about Uncharted 3’s stealth, I have fun with Uncharted 4’s stealth, I fawn over the marking system, get a PS4 trophy, I kill like a coward, I use a sky-hook to meet Sam, a man in the back says everyone attack and it turns into a ballroom blitz, what am I going to do with a shotgun at this range? I use my last two bullets wisely, then get killed a couple of times before Sully arrives and we skedaddle. We find a clue for treasure, get overly excited about adventure, Sully is looking out for us, we technically tell the truth to our wife, we ship out to Scotland to go grave robbin’. Sully waits in the plane while we and Sam slide on rocks and get in gun fights. Finally, I swan dive off a cliff, accidentally throw an exploding hotdog, push a crate, and end the episode during a hairy situation. Click here to watch on YouTube.

Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #06

Today our adventure begins in Scotland. Sam and I start off in a sticky situation involving a buncha gun-wielding mercenaries, our only hope being the utilization of our stealth expertise. Thus, we are doomed to die multiple times. I inexplicably ruminate on Supernatural, I really need to do some research on improving audio levels, Drake is the man equivalent of Lara Croft, the hell is a nut bottle? We continue our search for Henry Avery’s grave by climbing cliffs, swinging on ropes, sliding down rocks, and boosting our brother and his abnormally large testicles — it’s only a hop, skip, and jump away. What are the mysterious scratches on all the cliffs? We do a drop attack on a man who’s relieving himself. We die... a lot (gawd, I hope I get the hang of this soon). We kick a guy down a cliff and mourn the tragic prospect of him laying helplessly at the bottom like Kevin Bacon on White Water Summer. We’re overcome with grief, but the view is nice. Oh, well. We jump on Fifth Element stones, I say “trophies” instead of “treasures” yet again, we get one more chunk of gravel up our ass before finally making it to the graveyard. Sam’s incessant rambling prevents me from signing out on time. All-in-all, a pretty boring episode of my Let’s Play of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Click here to watch on YouTube.

Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #07
I begin today's adventure as any great commentator would: by not knowing what to say. We follow this up by reading our notebook for an insufferable amount of time, we investigate a large number of tombstones, we find a hidden lair, we play with an elaborate Light Bright, I temporarily mistake Scotland for Rapture, and we have a long and grueling enemy encounter at a cemetery (seriously, I’m talkin’ almost 20 minutes of me dying). Afterwards, I say phuck treasure and Sam and I share a moment together. I look for three crosses when I should be looking for a cave, Sully keeps injuns warm, we swing on piratey beams, I stealthily take out a tiny patrol, Sam says it’s “too high to reach you” when I know damn well he carries a rope, I don’t know what snow is, Sam and I can’t stop having beautiful moments, the cliff thing breaks, caves are deathtraps, we dream of hot cocoa and I say sayonara to the 7th installment of our Let’s Play of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Click here to watch on YouTube.

Nevets Plays Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Part 08 | Pirate Holiday
Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #08
Today we start off with a sedated attempt at enthusiasm and not knowing where inland is. This is immediately followed by another immature mock-sexual encounter with my brother, self-deprecation, a failed attempt at stealth, another failed attempt at stealth, another failed attempt at stealth where I try shooting while swinging, and yet ANOTHER failed attempt at stealth where I inexplicably refuse to go into cover regardless of my current critical state. Finally we succeed in our stealthy ways and I get giddy after spotting a wrecked pirate ship. I briefly gush over this video game already being my favorite in the Uncharted series, I slide down some rocks and prematurely jump,  Sam and I swing on piratey beams made for two. Everything is a death trap. Was Avery a Libra? Creepy Saint Dismas statues? Carved stairs? We’ve officially arrived at our pirate cave. We reach into a glory hole. What was Tew up to? We finally make it to chapter 9. I cry over not collecting everything, I mistake a firearm for a zippo. Double-guns, Nate (tsss). Nate takes a handout and we take an embarrassingly long time to solve a simple puzzle (I knew it all along, I was just messing around... heh). I give my life for treasure and end this episode of my Let's Play of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End in the nick of time. Click here to watch on YouTube.

Nevets Plays Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Part 09 | Proving Our Worth
Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #09
I begin by mistakenly presuming that I can play just a mere half hours worth of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End (what a fool!). I bitch and moan about an elusive treasure, we check on Sam’s Ah, we listen in on our villains secret plans. Why does Rafe hate us? I checked, Rafe isn’t the guy from Mad Men. I continue to complain about that missing treasure. I experience a brief moment of happiness in this sad and pointless existence. Sam ruins it by being a cold fish. Maybe six feet ain’t so far down? I’m alive and lovin’ it. We meet a gullible fool and snoop through his purse. Carvens? We play seesaw with Sam, Sam fat shames us, every one fears clowns. We prove our worth, Nadine doesn’t. We have a dramatic shootout. We get Sully’s plane shot up, learn more about Avery’s plans, continue lying to our wife and head to Madagascar. We hit chapter ten and finished off another fun-filled episode of this Let’s Play of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Click here to watch on YouTube.

Nevets Plays Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Part 10 | Sunny Madagascar
Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #10
In this episode of our Let’s Play of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End we ride in a jeep and explore Kings Bay, Madagascar, search for treasure, we see animals, I say a cringe-inducing joke or two (or more, heh), we knock down some Madagascar road signs (whatever), we do a third of a doughnut, we go chasing waterfalls, I recommend an awesome video game-based documentary series that everyone should watch, we find a note, we drive on a rickety bridge, we get mud in Sam’s mouth, I get scared by wild beasts, I have a swing and a miss, I fall on my face several times, we utilize a wench, what’s Avery doing with pirate captains? Sam is weirdly into pirates, I make an offensive, stereotypical comment about gamers, we run into Shoreline mercenaries and I finished off this episode of our Let’s Play of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Click here to watch on YouTube.

Nevets Plays Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Part 11 | Malagasy Ninjas
Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #11
In this episode of our Let’s Play of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, we start off at an enemy base where I prepare for some stealth action by marking mercenaries from the top of a hill. Sully gets in our way a bunch, Sam and I find ourselves in another homoerotic situation, our snipers are sweepyheads,  there’s an unaccounted for explosion, I yammer on about Metal Gear some more, and, despite a few miniscule hiccups, our silent take downs actually go somewhat well for the most part (until the last couple of guys, at least — those bastards). We swing on a rope, kicking Sully and Sam in the head (hey, they shoulda moved), we do a quick looksy-poo for treasure, we have a lackluster zipline experience, we encounter yet another badly constructed bridge, we use it as a ramp, the guys have idle chitchat in the car, we make bad puns and come across a well full of pirate corpses, we see Shoreline smoke and encounter another enemy base camp before ending off this episode of our Let’s Play of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Click here to watch on YouTube.

Nevets Plays Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Part 12 | Bungee Jeep
Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #12
Welcome to a new entry in my Let’s Play of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. In this episode, we begin right where we left off: crawling around in the weeds, hiding from Shoreline mercenaries. Our stealthy gameplay gets off to a good start, despite my friends ruining my cover and stealing my hiding spots. We snags some marks and get a guy down before, in pure Gutter Monkey fashion, the stealth ends and guns begin to blaze. It’s good to see Shoreline is just as scared of Nadine as I am, I dig 80s tunes, Shoreline continues to blow crap up. I get confused as to where to go and we encounter yet another enemy base camp. We stealthily take down all mercenaries while they take selfies. I accidentally hit the hint button while attempting to change weapons, we blow up a door and find a tea tin, we find a tower, a nice view, a journal entry, a treasure, and have some light chitchat with our friends and family. We find... a moat? There’s a giant shootout, I kick the bucket a couple of times, we finally prevail and continue our mission. I dig country tunes, it wouldn’t have hurt Avery to utilize a guardrail or two, we bungee jump with a jeep, we pray, Sully decides to seek mental assistance. We finally reach the tower on the volcano, I make an obligatory Dark Tower reference, we find more ancient Bonaroo swag, we find a hidden entrance (shockingly enough) and Sam gets giddy with excitement. We meet Saint Dismas again and proceed to manhandle him until Sully figures out his secret. We’re immediately attacked, I die, and we end today’s playthrough of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Click here to watch on YouTube.

Nevets Plays Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Part 13 | Safety Last!
Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #13
Today on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, I replay a chunk of game that I had just played (turns out that I forgot to hit record before... oops). Anywho, I rewind and start where we left off — in the midst of a heavy gunfight. Afterwards, with the assistance of our trusty pirate coin, we figure out what tower to go to next. Well, almost. It’s one of two places. Sam splits from the group to check one tower while we check another. We finally make it to Chapter 11 and Sully and I head to the market. We find a treasure, Madagascar needs new ad men, we haggle for some souvenirs, get an apple, have an apple stolen from us, and arrive at a clock tower. We then do a mini-puzzle, a Harold Lloyd impression, and we break a buncha stuff. We find another hidden room and this Let’s Play officially becomes a blind playthrough again. We work on another puzzle involving paintings of pirate captains and pirate symbols. I realize in post that I’m looking at a painting of none other than the legendary pirate, Guybrush Threepwood (from Monkey Island fame), and we finish this episode of our Let’s Play of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End with our current puzzle still uncompleted. Click here to watch on YouTube.

Nevets Plays Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Part 14 | The Fast and the Mildly Miffed
Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #14
We start off this installment of our playthrough of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End by continuing our last puzzle right where we left off. We take a peek at the Guybrush Threepwood painting and I still don’t make the Monkey Island connection. Instead, I think Guybrush looks like Lance from Pulp Fiction. Then I start rambling about Harry Potter for some reason. Eventually our (yes, “our” — we’re in this together, dammit) attention snaps back in gear and we get back to puzzle solving. It takes a little time, but we eventually get it. Our hard work pays off and we find the next clue in our mission. Sadly, Rafe get the better of us and goons with guns are on our tail. We ruin a perfectly good phone, leave the clock tower, and encounter our first gunfight of this episode. I die a bunch, I have to do a quick cut in the video due to some rowdy domestic animals, we finally make to our jeep and immediately commence an awesomely epic car chase. After that thrilling encounter, we manage to literally lasso a convoy and ditch our vehicle. We instantly meet our demise. Happily, however, we’re blessed with respawning powers. We’re dragged through the mud, we start hopping on enemy trucks, we commandeer vehicles, things blow up, ammo is scarce, there’s another car chase, Sons of Anarchy, it’s complete and utter chaos and I love it. We meet back up with Sam — are we saving him or is he saving us? There’s a car crash and a crazy-intense motorcycle escape from an armored shooting machine. Thing calm down, I catch my breath, we go over our plans, find the way to Libertalia, Elena shows up, things get awkward, everyone but my brother hates me, Sam and I have a beer and head off to a secluded island to find Libertalia, and I sign off from this EXCITING installment of our Let’s Play of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Whew! I need a nap. Click here to watch on YouTube.

Nevets Plays Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Part 15 | Nathillion's Island
Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #15
Ahoy, Homo sapiens. Today we start off our Let’s Play of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End on the high seas. I stay relatively mute for a bit before I realize that I’ve accidentally cut off the opening conversation. Don’t fret, however, because due to the magic of editing we get a flashback of that conversation later. We cruise around a bit before finding dry land. We park (dock? I don’t know) a few times and commence a couple of quick searches for treasure. Sam “dickbag” Drake keeps moving the boat on me. We find a lot of treasure, there’s corpses in ominous positions, we explore despite Sam’s eagerness to get on with things, we climb up yet ANOTHER tower, we come across an ancient Star Trek sigil,  we get confused trying to follow giant compasses, we come across a mysterious zipline, we enter a mysterious cave, Sam is a nerd, we find a bridge (you’ll never guess what happens), Nate moans and groans about the personal bridges he’s burned, Sam ignores us, we get stuck and fall to our death, we climb, we swing, we slide, we find another guard tower, Nate quotes Guybrush, Sam has a blast swinging, and we abruptly end this episode while hanging on a rope. Click here to watch on YouTube.

Nevets Plays Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Part 16 | Stranded and Alone
Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #16
We start this episode of our Let’s Play of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End by just hanging around. After that, we get right into action with a brand new puzzle. It’s pretty simple stuff but still takes us a bit. We get to see a Guybrush Threepwood statue and search for an elusive Avery statue — it doesn’t take us long to find. No hesitation, this is my favorite Drake adventure. We head back to our boat, Sam should switch to e-cigs, we find an old pirate ship, a journal from Burns Jr. (exxxxxcellent), a treasure, I nearly drown, and we proceed to get lost again. We arrive at Avery’s statue, I sing a little ditty, we may have found to way to Libertalia. Sam acts weird before we’re interrupted by bad guys on the horizon. We go full circle, right back where we started. Now we’re dazed and marooned and on the hunt for Sam. Click here to watch on YouTube.

Nevets Plays Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Part 17 | Finding Sam
Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #17
Today on our Let’s Play of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, we start off still on the hunt for Sam. I re-read a note from our last episode,  I climb up a mountain, pass a hanging corpse (which I later learned was a journal entry if I’d looked at it from the ground POV, dammit), I pick up a piton, I use a piton, and I really like the word piton (piton, piton, piton). We encounter our first group of enemies and it goes about as well as expected (not well). We immediately encounter a second group of enemies (we handle them with as much skill as the first — only worse... way worse). After that long and humiliating experience, we get back to business, climbing, swinging and sliding our way to find Sam. We find a letter from Walter Hayes and finally come face to face with our dear old bro again. Nate shows some pessimism about our mission (I blame my previous battle) before we fortuitously stumble upon a new clue. We find an old building, brothers can be dicks, and we discover a long, lost pirate utopia. Click here to watch on YouTube.

Nevets Plays Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Part 18 | Pirate City
Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #18
Today on our Let’s Play of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, we’re hanging out in Libertalia (I think?). We search through the ruins of the deserted pirate utopia, we chat with Sam, I say a bad Treasure Island joke and give its death a moment of silence, and we explore clues and remnants of this lost and mysterious civilization — also, I continue to ramble out my love for Monkey Island. After 30 minutes of this (yes, literally), we set back out on our mission — to get to ANOTHER guard tower (pirates apparently adore guard towers). We find an oldtimey hideout and rope down a moon door, only to find bad guys all over. We literally spend the entirety of the rest of this Let’s Play dealing with them. Click here to watch on YouTube.

Nevets Plays Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Part 19 | Guybrush!
Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #19
Today on our Let’s Play of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, I start by spending a copious amount of time complaining over an out of reach treasure. We run into some bad guys, I misthrow a rope and have bizarre consequences, stealth fails, guns blaze, things go terribly amiss (my aiming also goes terribly a’missing). After many deaths and resurrections, things eventually start going my way and I take out the remaining guys like the ninja warrior my mother raised me to be (until I inevitably screw it up). Sam’s a wizard, Nate’s a punk. That rope thing is super easy and we were a natural at it (an idiots last words before failing at the rope thing). It’s a bore, alright. I mock Sam and attempt to sucker punch him. We find an abandoned old pirate government building (or something) and learn more secrets about Libertalia (Civil War?!). We search for clues and find something better — more Monkey Island references! The treasure still eludes us, but we’re getting closer. We climb another tower, reach the top, and I end this fun-filled installment of our Let’s Play for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Click here to watch on YouTube.

Nevets Plays Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Part 20 | A Flashback Exploration
Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #20
Today on our Let’s Play of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, we find treasure at the treasury? I don’t know what the hell I’m talking about. We’re instantly attacked and things get hairy in a big, bushy way. Buildings crumble, people die, things blow up — what have we gotten ourselves into?! We get separated from Sam and I briefly praise the game before being sucker punched by a girl. Mango! Mango! Sam and I double team Nadine (not like that — get your head out of the gutter!), we’re always getting knocked out of windows, we do a super punch, we run into Rafe, Sam gets hurt, we fall down a mountain, did I just hear Elena? We land so hard that we’re knocked in the past, where we spend the rest of our video exploring a creepy old mansion, getting copyright claims, chatting with old ladies and running from cops. Click here to watch on YouTube.

Nevets Plays Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Part 21 | Marital Bliss
Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #21
We start off today’s gameplay of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End in the past, where little Drakes escape the police. We learn some revealing backstory on our name and our future before finally making it back to the present, where wifey-poo has miraculously appeared. We tell Elena everything, we chat with Sully, we’re still getting the cold shoulder, and we’re leaving to find our dear ol’ bro. I stop to check the waterfall and my old lady hassles me over it. We find an 18th century elevator, I have a lot of bridge trouble (shockingly), Elena is a killing machine, and we encounter another enemy base — and handle it surprisingly well for once. After our smoothly played murder spree, we take a long, relaxing jeep ride. Eventually we arrive at another elevator and need to work out how to use it. Once we do, things get messy and I get going, ending this episode of our Let’s Play for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Click here to watch on YouTube.

Nevets Plays Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Part 22 | Water Under the Bridge
Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #22
We start off today’s gameplay of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End hanging on an elevator, being riddled with bullets. It’s a long, bloody, death-filled 20 minutes which ends with our clumsy, heroic race to save Elena from impending doom. She must’ve gotten tired of waiting on us. We take another jeep ride, surf some waves, ram into a giant door, we encounter a broken bridge (can ya believe it?), we find a secret area, Elena makes us feel stupid, we read a note, I don’t know where the hell we’re going but let’s go there. We stumble across another elevator, I miss another exploring opportunity, we have a heart-to-heart with Elena that ends in a whole heap of awkwardness. The awkwardness continues with a long, quiet drive to our destination. We start crossing another bridge and you’ll never guess what happens. Goodbye, jeep. We’ll miss you. We end this episode while our relationship hangs in the balance. Click here to watch on YouTube.

Nevets Plays Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Part 23 | The Hell Is A Gibbet?
Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #23
We start off today’s Let’s Play of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End by getting the cold shoulder from our dearly beloved. We walk around a little, our wife shows us up, we find a dead pirate and an ominous letter, we try to relate to Elena the fleeting reality of our existence and the time wasted by holding grudges, and we encounter a pile of corpses while looking for jewelry. I desecrate some corpses and we meet the guy from the menu screen. We then ruminate on the strangeness of history and how time defines the cultural norm. The hell is a gibbet? Following the trail of dead colonists, we eventually find New Devon. I briefly recite Shaggy, we jump a wall, swim, and realize we’re located in a pirate captain neighborhood. I search for Guybrush Threepwoods adobe and we run into a buttload of bad guys. We waste a ton of time exploring and I end this episode off having never found Guybrush’s house. Nevets Plays Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Part 24 | Fate of the Founders
Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #24
We start off today’s Let’s Play of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End by checking out some morbid sights and learning more about the founders or Libertalia. A roof caves in on us, we do more swimming, we check out some more haunted houses, look at some birds, I don’t like myself, Baldridge is villainous, and we discuss ancient Romans, Greeks, and Nazi’s. Elena makes a great counterweight and we discover the horrifying end to the founders of Libertalia (well, most of them). After quite some time of mourning for our beloved mighty pirate, we move on to Avery’s house. Macho Man makes a brief cameo and Elena refuses to join our band. We follow footprints, reach a door, and deal with a ton of baddies. I find a giant awesome gun that I apparently can’t carry through doors (boo). We end things off by having wifey-poo read us a note and checking out a corpse. Click here to watch on YouTube.

Nevets Plays Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Part 25 | Avery's Dungeon of Terror
Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #25
We start off today’s playthrough of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End at Henry Avery’s house. After our discovery that Avery and Tew had banded together to slaughter their partners, you wouldn’t think the guy could get much worse. Well, guess again — this guy brings new meaning to having skeletons in your closet. Within Avery’s secret dungeon thing we see many horrors, terrors, frights, thrills, chills, goosebumps, and a couple of jaws and limbs. Exploding mummy things scare the living bejesus outta me... repeatedly. I try to push Elena down a hill into some exploding mummies, but I apologize after. Is it racist to say all bones look alike? We encounter some bad guys in the dungeon of terror and handle our differences with firearms. Before making our way out of the dungeon, we have to figure out how to traverse some exploding floor tiles. Right when we think we’re free we get trapped in a net and have to make an Indiana Jones-esque run for it (how the hell did Tew bypass all this stuff?). Elena freaks us out playing possum and we finish this episode off with her liking us again. Women are a handful (in every meaning of the phrase). Click here to watch on YouTube.

Nevets Plays Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Part 26 | I'm Only One Man
Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #26
We start off today’s THRILLING Let’s Play of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End fresh out of Avery’s dungeon of terror. Elena instantly starts using more words I don’t understand (first a gibbet now a galleon, I’m thinking she’s just showing off now).  Thinking we still have some down time, I take my time and search around a bit while conveying my love for pirate stuff in video games. Then we find a pirate ship graveyard and all hell breaks loose. I die a lot. I mean... a whole lot. I carry a big gun, we find Sam, we do an epic swing between pirate ships, we get separated from the group, I drown, we blow up a truck and get chased by a much, much, much larger truck. Sully is my hero. I need a nap and a shot. This was too much excitement for one playthrough.

God and liberty, assholes. Click here to watch on YouTube.

Nevets Plays Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Part 27 | Finishing What We Started
Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #27
We start off today’s Let’s Play of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End by talking about the mental meltdown I acquired from our previous episode. Then we join Sully in hopes he being nurtured and cared for. Elena shows up and Sam show up and we finally have the whole team back together again scratched and beat up, but intact for the most part. Sam still wants treasure but the rest of the team just wants to not die. Majority rules, and we head for Sully’s plane for a ride home. That is, until Sam decides to run off without us. As expected, we go after him. We find the resting place of Johnathan Burnes, I’m done with bridges, I think I may have briefly seen a cave monster, we find Avery’s ship, and we eaves drop on Rafe and Nadine before reaching our twenty second and last chapter: A Thief’s End (to be continued on our next episode). Click here to watch on YouTube.

Nevets Plays Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Part 28 | A Thief Meets His End
Let's Play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Episode #28
The end.

This game was absolutely fantastic — by far, my favorite entry to the Uncharted series. Also, I had a surprising amount of fun making it the focus of my first ever Let’s Play (sorry about the all-over-the-place microphone quality). This was a bit of an experiment for me when it comes to both publicly putting my weird personality out there for all to see (apologies for that) and in trying to create something I’d never created before. From my own perspective, I can’t say how well it turned out as a source of entertainment for others, but, for myself, at least, I received a huge amount of pleasure in making it. If anyone out there ever stumbles across any of these videos (and you’re reading this currently), I sincerely hope you enjoyed watching them as much as I did putting them together. Either way, humans, thanks for watching. And thank you Naughty Dog for another fantastic gaming experience. Click here to watch on YouTube.
